Central Office of Information:
The government department that provides advice and support to public-sector organisations on all aspects of communications.
ICSTIS:
The Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services - the premium-rate service watchdog.
NTS:
Number Translation Services, which are phone services using the following numbers: 0800, 0844 and 0845, 0870 and 0871, 090 and 091.
NTS service provider:
A provider of voice or data services to callers who dial NTS numbers.
Originating provider:
The telecommunications provider who owns the network where a call begins.
Terminating provider:
The telecommunications provider who owns the network where a call ends.
